Richmond Elementary School has been placed on lockdown as a precaution after a caller to Kanawha County Metro 911 reported shots fired.
A dispatcher said the shots fired were heard in the area of the 900 block of Meadow Drive at about 10 a.m.
The dispatcher said no one was struck.
South Charleston police were on scene looking for a shooter.
