A Dunbar man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Charleston Friday night, police say.
Ronald Carpenter, 48, died after the motorcycle he was riding struck the rear of a tractor trailer near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 20th Street, according to a release from the Charleston Police Department.
The police department and the Charleston Fire Department responded to the accident around 8:11 p.m. Friday. The motorcycle had come to rest in the passing lane of Seventh Avenue after striking the tractor trailer that was turning left onto 20th Street, according to police.
Carpenter was pronounced dead after being taken to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital, police say.
