A man suspected of shooting another man in Clendenin Saturday has been arrested.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office arrested Christopher Dwayne Bennett, 35, of Elkview. Bennett, who was wanted for malicious assault, was listed as an inmate Sunday morning at South Central Regional Jail.
In a news release, the sheriff's office said Bennett shot another man, Bobby Hall, also of Elkview, in the shoulder and face during a fight Saturday afternoon.
Hall was transported by medics to Charleston Area Medical Center after he had called 911 to say he had been shot, a Kanawha County dispatcher said.
Sgt. Brian Humphreys, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said the injuries don't appear to be life threatening.
The call came in around 2:40 p.m. as Hall was driving to Charleston and medics were going to meet the man on the way and transport him to the hospital.
Hall was at Kelly Hill Road searching for a friend's stolen vehicle, according to the news release. While there, he got into a fight and then left.
Upon returning, Hall got into another argument, this time with Bennett, according to the news release. That is when Bennett allegedly shot Hall twice.
A warrant was issued for Bennett's arrest. He is wanted for malicious assault.
After Hall called for help, he was supposed to meet the medics at Herbert Hoover High School initially, but he drove past the school, the dispatcher said.
