PRINCETON, W.Va. - A Raleigh County man convicted of killing his wife has been sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole.

Multiple media outlets report that a Mercer County Circuit Court judge sentenced Johnnie Ray Farley, 61, on Friday.

A jury found Farley guilty in August of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Lynette Denise Farley. He was arrested in October 2014 after her body was found buried on his farm in the Egeria area near the Mercer and Raleigh county line.

One of Farley's attorneys, Jay Williams, says the defense plans to appeal and seek a new trial.
