Three more deer have been found illegally shot dead within the city limits of Fairmont.

The Times West Virginian reports that since August, 10 deer have been found shot to death in Fairmont.

State Division of Natural Resources officer Randall Kocsis says the first deer was found Saturday morning at Windmill Park. The four-point buck had been shot one time with a bullet comparable in size to bullets the DNR believes to have killed other deer in the area.

Kocsis says two more deer were discovered Sunday behind the Times West Virginian office on Quincy Street. A young male deer had been shot in its side and had to be euthanized. Another young male deer was found dead nearby.

Kocsis believes the same person or people are responsible for all the shootings.
