A Quick man who said other men were firing guns near his property and scaring his livestock confronted the men and then fired his gun into the air, striking one of them, police say.

Jimmie Holley, 60, is charged with wanton endangerment, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. His bullet struck a 21-year-old man, according to police.

Deputies responded at about 11:15 a.m. to Mountaineer Heights Drive in Quick. Holley told them he lived near where several men were shooting rifles, scaring his livestock and animals, and that he had confronted them.

Men who were not on his property continued firing their rifles, so Holley fired a 9 mm pistol into the air toward the group, and one bullet struck the 21-year-old man, police say.
