CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Longtime Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge David H. Sanders says he won't seek re-election in 2016.
Multiple media outlets report that Sanders announced on Tuesday he will leave the bench at the end of 2016. The 68-year-old Charles Town resident was first elected in 1992.
Sanders says he announced his decision so people would know that his seat will be open next year.
He says he doesn't plan to return to private practice.
