LAVALETTE, W.Va. (AP) - Police in Wayne County have released the names of three people killed in an automobile accident.
News outlets reported that 25-year-old Austin C. Combs, 33-year-old Jeremy Maynard and 56-year-old Sarah Plymale were killed in Friday's crash in Lavalette. All were from the town of Wayne.
Wayne County Sheriff's Cpl. Adam Baumgartner said investigators believe an SUV driven by Combs crossed the center line to avoid hitting a vehicle on state Route 152 and then struck another SUV head on.
Combs and Plymale were pronounced dead at the scene and Maynard died a day later at a hospital. Baumgartner said Maynard was a passenger in Combs' vehicle and Plymale was a passenger in the second SUV that was struck.
Baumgartner said three other people were injured.
