A Charleston man admitted this week that he had hundreds of videos and pictures of child pornography.
Jason Lee Smith, 39, pleaded guilty on Thursday to possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Smith had more than 600 images and videos on his computer of minors, many of them prepubescent, engaged in sexual acts, according to the release. Investigators found that Smith was using a peer-to-peer file sharing program.
Smith pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 24.
