A man wanted in Pennsylvania for allegedly killing a man was arrested in Charleston on Monday morning.
Jesse Jones, 28, allegedly shot and killed Cameron Johnson in the area of Moon Crest Apartments in Moon Township, just northwest of Pittsburgh, on Sept. 23, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service. Johnson was able to drive away from the scene, but crashed into a tree a short distance away.
Jones was charged with homicide and firearms offenses the next day.
On Monday at about 7:30 a.m., U.S. Marshals from Pittsburgh and Charleston arrested Jones at a residence in the 1500 block of Jackson Street in Charleston. The release says the arrest occurred without incident.
Jones will face additional charges because marshals found a handgun and what they believe to be crack cocaine, the release says.
Jones was charged as a fugitive from justice and taken to the South Central Regional Jail to await extradition to Pennsylvania.
