HINTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities have arrested five men from three states who are accused of killing nearly 20 deer in West Virginia.

West Virginia Natural Resources Police tell local media that they arrested the men after finding 18 harvested deer hanging at a hunting camp in Summers County.

Department of Natural Resources Captain W.W. Brogan says it was the worst case of hunting violations he has encountered in his more than two decades in law enforcement. He says the suspects had no intention of checking the deer they killed.

Charles Powell from New Jersey, Kenneth Powell from Pennsylvania, and Robert Canfield, Charley Simms and Timothy Powell from West Virginia are accused of hunting without a license, not wearing blaze orange, and driving with loaded firearms.

It was not immediately clear if they have attorneys.
