Several vehicles were involved in an crash on Interstate 77 in which eight people were sent to the hospital this morning, according to a Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatcher.
The wreck was reported near the 96-mile marker near the exit for U.S. 60 East at about 6:20 a.m.
The dispatcher was unsure if the crash happened on the northbound or southbound side of the interstate. The Kanawha County Metro 911 website says it involved a semi-truck and happened on the northbound side but was previously reported to be on the southbound side.
The Metro 911 website also says one lane of Interstate 77 reopened at about 7:15 a.m.
