With that in mind, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is ringing in the holiday season with a weeklong series of tips on how to recognize and avoid them. The series starts Monday.
Morrisey says the holiday season typically is a busy time of the year for scam artists who prey on the giving spirit of the season.
