PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - A Bluefield man has been sentenced for robbing a bank while on a bicycle at a drive-thru window.
Media outlets report that 21-year-old Nathaniel Showalter received a 60-year prison sentence on Monday in Mercer County Circuit Court. He won't be eligible for parole until he serves 20 years of the sentence.
Showalter was convicted of first-degree bank robbery in October.
Bluefield police say Showalter showed a gun to a teller at the drive-thru window of a First Community Bank branch on June 23, 2014. Showalter presented a letter demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
