CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A law firm is suing a company owned by billionaire Jim Justice over $410,000 in legal fees that it says were never paid.
In U.S. District Court in eastern Louisiana, Phelps Dunbar LLP sued James C. Justice Companies LLC on Monday.
The law firm filing says the group represented Justice's company in another lawsuit it had faced starting in 2011 and spanning several years.
The Louisiana case dealt with a breach of contract for another company's coal barge services.
In its lawsuit, Phelps Dunbar says Justice's company hasn't paid invoices from March 2013 to this June.
A representative of James C. Justice Companies did not immediately return a phone message for comment.
Justice is a Democratic candidate in next year's race for West Virginia governor.
