A tanker truck overturned early Wednesday near the Clendenin exit, shutting down Interstate 79 for nearly three hours, according to Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers.
The slow lanes in each direction reopened about 4 a.m., dispatchers said.
The truck was carrying alcohol, according to dispatchers.
Emergency responders had to work to free the driver from the cab. He was taken to a hospital.
Dispatchers said at about 7:15 a.m. that crews were working to remove the truck from the highway.
