CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Two Mexican men each have been sentenced to eight months in federal prison for conspiring to commit credit card fraud in West Virginia.
U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says 22-year-old Marco Carrillo and 24-year-old Luis Vazquez, both of Sonora, Mexico, were sentenced Monday in federal court in Charleston.
Federal agents arrested the men on May 4 when they arrived at a FedEx Corp. facility in Charleston to pick up a package containing 100 fraudulent credit cards.
Court records show FedEx had intercepted the package on May 1 and turned it over to law enforcement.
Goodwin says Carrillo and Vazquez admitted they planned to use the cards to buy electronic goods and gift cards.
