A 21-year-old man arrived on his own at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back this morning, according to a Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatcher.
John C. Tofi II is in stable condition, according to a news release sent this afternoon from Charleston Sgt. J.A. "Tyke" Hunt.
Police were responding to a shooting in the 600 block of 6th Street on Charleston's West Side when Tofi went to the hospital by himself.
Charleston police are investigating.
Hunt said nothing further would be released as of mid-Wednesday afternoon.
