HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Cabell County woman faces up to 15 years in prison after entering a Kennedy plea to voluntary manslaughter.
Angela Kay Chapman had been charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend, 57-year-old Frank Oldaker. Media outlets report that the 51-year-old Lesage resident entered the plea to the lesser charge on Monday in Cabell County Circuit Court.
Under the Kennedy rule, a defendant doesn't admit guilt.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 12.
Prosecutors say Chapman fatally shot Oldaker on April 17, 2014, at the couple's home.
