Kanawha County sheriff's deputies arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence on New Year's Eve and arrested two people for other misdemeanors.
New Year's Eve is traditionally a holiday that is synonymous with drunk driving arrests.
Supported by money from the Governor's Highway Safety Program, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office has been patrolling for DUIs throughout the holiday week. On Dec. 29, seven people were arrested for driving under the influence.
