A St. Albans man faces a first-degree robbery charge for allegedly attacking another man because he wanted a beer.
James Douglass Boggs, 25, allegedly attacked a man who had just bought a 6-pack of Magic Hat and 12-pack of Budweiser at the BP on Kanawha Terrace, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. He allegedly shouted "Hey, give me a beer" then knocked the man down and repeatedly punched him.
Police found Boggs at a residence where an S-10 truck, matching the description of the truck that took Boggs and two others from the scene, on Cunningham Street in St. Albans. Police wrote in the complaint that Boggs had a cut on his left shoulder area where the victim had cut him in self-defense.
