A man allegedly robbed the 7-Eleven at 2517 Spencer Road in the Clendenin area early this morning, police say.
Kajun Russell Cossin, 30, of Clendenin, allegedly displayed a knife and demanded money and cigarettes, then left the store on foot shortly after 2 a.m., according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
A K-9 tracked Cossin for 1.5 miles over 55 minutes - from the front of the store, down Spencer Road, Thorofare Road, through several creek crossings and finally to Leuven Lane, police say.
Police say they found Cossin at his home, as well as clothes worn during the robbery and stolen items in his pockets.
Cossin is being charged with first degree robbery, a felony.
No one was injured in the robbery.
Police did not release the amount of money stolen.
