A 24-year-old Charleston man died in a head-on collision in front of the University of Charleston on Tuesday night, police say.

Tysean Antonio Jenkins was driving a 2003 Honda Accord that was heading eastbound in the 2300 block of MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City around 9 p.m. when it suddenly crossed the median and collided head on with a Buick Enclave, according to a news release from the Charleston Police Department.

The Buick's driver, who has not been identified, was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division where she is being treated for her injuries, police say. A passenger in the Honda Accord was also taken to CAMC General for treatment.

The cause of the accident has not been determined.
