CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Clarksburg man has pleaded guilty in a fatal drunken driving accident.
Media outlets report 42-year-old John Franklin Jenkins pleaded guilty Thursday to DUI with death and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to a vehicle. Jenkins entered the plea in the August death of 26-year-old Cherish "Nikki" Whaley.
According to investigators, Jenkins had a blood-alcohol content of 0.226 percent when his vehicle struck another vehicle, injuring two children. He drove away from the scene of the crash, crossed a highway's center line and struck Whaley's vehicle, killing her.
