An Oak Hill man was arrested Thursday on allegations of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Joshua Ian Miller, 30, was arrested by officers with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust in relation to a minor.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report regarding alleged sexual abuse of a young child in the Oak Hill area on Jan. 25, according to a press release from the office.
The following day, the child was interviewed at Just For Kids Inc. Child and Youth Advocacy Center in Oak Hill. The girl said she was abused while in the care, custody and control of Miller. Following an investigation into the allegations, criminal charges were filed against Miller.
He was arraigned in the Magistrate Court of Fayette County and was remanded to the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
The incident is still under investigation by Detective-Corporal J.M. Pack of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Just For Kids Inc. Child and Youth Advocacy Center.
