Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies on Thursday were looking for a man suspected of robbing the Dollar General store in Cross Lanes.
About 3:30 p.m., a man demanded money and allegedly approached a cashier at the store on Doc Bailey Road and raised his shirt to display what appeared to be the butt of a firearm in his waistband, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
He took the money and then fled on foot toward the Drexel Place apartment complex, the release states.
The suspect is described as a white man wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a gray baseball cap.
Deputies say they have seen surveillance footage from the store.
