More than a dozen high-end bikes have been stolen in Charleston in the past few weeks, police say.
Lt. Steve Cooper, chief of detectives, said during an afternoon press conference at the Charleston Police Department Thursday that most of the bikes were stolen from the area between the Capitol and CAMC General.
He said the thefts seemed out of the ordinary because high-end bikes were targeted, and they were taken from porches or removed from padlocks.
He advised people to bring their bicycles inside overnight while police continue to investigate.
