MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty in the hit-and-run death of woman in Morgantown earlier this year.
Local media outlets report Alexander Hambrick pleaded guilty Monday to DUI with death and leaving the scene of an accident with death.
Authorities say Hambrick was drunk on Jan. 17 when he ran his pickup truck up on a sidewalk where 20-year-old Carli Elizabeth Sears of Charleston was walking. Sears was struck and killed.
WDTV-TV reports that Sears, who was a student at the University of Mississippi, was in town visiting friends at the time.
Hambrick faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled Feb. 8.
