The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office used a SWAT team to execute a search warrant on Indiana Avenue on Charleston's West Side this morning.
Willie Charles Sanders, 43, was arrested and charged with distribution of heroin.
Sgt. Sean Snuffer said the SWAT team was used because narcotics dealers typically have weapons. He also noted that the home was the site of a recent home invasion, when pit bulls were let loose in order to attack the invader.
The arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Kanawha STOP team, Snuffer said. STOP stands for Sheriff's Tactical Operations Patrol.
