ROMNEY, W.Va. - Circuit Judge Charles E. Parsons saidit's sobering to see your own mortality.
Parsons returned to the bench in the 22nd Judicial Circuit on Nov. 5, after his recovery from receiving a heart transplant.
He said in a news release that life is precious and suggested that people make every effort to hold onto it.
The judge, 68, underwent the surgery on June 26 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was released from the hospital July 6.
Parsons was elected to the bench in the 22nd Judicial Circuit in 2010. He said he won't seek re-election when his eight-year term ends.
The circuit covers Hampshire, Hardy and Pendleton counties.
