CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - People who paid registration fees for the canceled 2014 Charleston Dirty Girl Mud Run will soon learn how they can obtain refunds.
Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said Wednesday that his office is mailing instructions to about 1,100 people who signed up for the July 2014 event. Would-be participants paid entry fees of $65 to $95.
After the event was canceled because of financial issues, race organizers refused to issue refunds. The organizers' parent company, 100LLC, reached a settlement with the attorney general's office in August.
The 5-kilometer run for women of all ages would have involved obstacles and mud pits. Events are held across the country.
