The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people they say are responsible for recent break-ins in the Elkview area.
Randy Scott Sanders, 22, of Charleston, was arrested on breaking and entering charges, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. Elizabeth Thompson, 26, of Charleston, was charged with transferring and receiving stolen property. Deputies say at least one more person will be arrested.
Deputies linked Thompson and Sanders to a series of 22 breaking and entering crimes in the Elkview area, mainly garages and outbuildings in Blue Creek, Pinch, and Milliken and on New Hope Road, since mid-October, according to the release.
Dozens of lawnmowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, generators and fuel containers were stolen in the break-ins. Deputies were holding items recovered in the investigation in an evidence room at the sheriff's office. The items were being analyzed and sorted Friday.
Victims of the thefts should be notified about recovered property soon. The owner or owners of a few items of stolen property have not been identified, so the sheriff's office is asking anyone else who was robbed in the area to call police at 304-357-0169 or email tips@kanawhasheriff.us.
